Our last day was a fun one. We studied for about the first two hours and then we had a scavenger hunt with both groups, mine and the older kids. We divided them up and gave them clues for things to look for in english. The teachers even got involved as one of us was assigned to each group. They were great! Then we had a long game of dodgeball and that was really fun too. Afterwards they all got certificates and I told them they were ready to drop off in Harlem, NY their English was so good. They looked at me funny as they often did during the week whenever I made references to something. I started to talk to them about "Sweet Caroline". They didn't get it so much but they thought the "Da, da, da" and " So good, so good, so good" was funny. I tried to explain the Red Sox, but even English to English discussions can be confusing on that subject matter.
It looks like it will be super hot this weekend and I am going to be working on lessening the Oregon whiteness on my underside. Hope all is well and talk to you later.
Caio
This was the tortellini and ragu sauce I had for dinner last night. Taste so good make you wanna slap your Mama!
Clearly most of my girls are not camera shy.
Most of the class, with one late addition running up. They were lots of fun. But good luck trying to help an upset kid who doesn't speak a lot of English.
This was lunch this afternoon. Roasted rosemary potatoes, some Italian sausage and a pork rib. Very nice!
